Mulling Spices

Sitting around a warm fire chatting, trying to warm up after being out in the cold, and of course any Christmas function, was a time for mulled wine. The fragrant spices and hint of fruity flavours make it the perfect winter drink.
Ours uses long pepper for additional sweet notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamon.
(For those that do not want cinnamon, we can make you a blend without the cinnamon.)

💡 Tips
① Tie the spices in the bag. We suggest 1-2 tablespoons (10-15 grams) for each bottle of wine.
② Put wine in a pot and add mulling spices, gently warm the wine. Do not let it boil! Usually it will be ready in 15-20 minutes, however the longer the better. The longer the spices are left in, the stronger the flavour will be.
③ Add sugar or honey to the pot. You may also add brandy or orange juice at this point. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. It is ready to serve.

You may use maple syrup to sweeten however we prefer to sweeten our mulled wine with our maple sugar.

👨‍🍳 Insight
There is no need to splurge on pricey wine, a mid-range red wine will do fine. You can also use mulling spices with apple cider.
